This project is co-implemented by United Nations Environment Programme, China, Russia and Mongolia. The total investment for this project is 1.278 million USD, of which 650 thousand comes from GEF and 628 thousand is domestic fund. Ministry of Environmental Protection of China will be responsible for project management and implementation in China and FECO is the Chinese implementing agency. There are 4 major activities under this project: (1) trans-boundary diagnostic analysis for the Amur/Heilong Basin and its associated coastal areas; (2) formulating Strategic Action Program for the Lake Xingkai Basin and preparing pilot bi-national activities; (3) providing consultancy services for the steering committee and stakeholders; and (4) finishing GEF project outline. This project was launched in November 2005, and is expected to be completed in 2010. |
