On 28th of February, Expert Symposium on Pilot Case Study of Performance Evaluation for China’s GEF projects was Held in MEPFECO. Delegates and experts from the International Department of the Ministry of Finance, Asian Finance and Development center of the Ministry of Finance, Research Center of foregin finance of science and research institute of the Ministry of  Finance attended the meeting. Mr. Yue Ruisheng, Deputy Director General  MEPFECO  took part in the meeting.

Under the commission of the international department of the Ministry of Finance, MEPFECO took on the Pilot Case Study of Performance Evaluation for China’s GEF projects, which was the first time for it to conduct consulting service on project performance evaluation as a third party consulting institution and therefore opened up a new field for MEPFECO’s consulting services work. According to the requirement of the agreement, an evaluation team was set up to conudct the evaluation based on eight GEF projects in China in the fileds of Bio-diversity and Climate Change. The draft report on the Eight single projects and the draft comprehensive report was completed already over half and a year’s continuous work.

During the meeting, delegates and experts held discussions on the regarding reports carefully.They put forward further suggestions for the revision and consummation for the reports with highly appreciation. According to the schedule, MEPFECO would improve the reports accoding to the opinions of the experts and afterwards submit them the Ministry of Finance.(translated by Hu Yang)
