On September 2-3, 2011, the project meeting of Special Policy Study (SPS) on mercury management in China under China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) was held in Beijing. Dr. Fang Li, Deputy Director-General of FECO and CCICED Assistant Secretary-general and Dr. Barry Stemshorn, co-chair of the SPS project presented welcome speech. Over 30 experts from the Ministry of Environmental Protection, international agencies, the executive teams of this project both at home and abroad attended this meeting.

During the meeting, the draft executive summary report to be submitted to CCICED was fully discussed among the project team. Besides, comments and suggestions regarding the report from external agencies like UNEP, departments and institution of MEP and CCICED secretariat were also presented. Plans for the next step work were made for all the project teams.
