Public campaign for HCFCs Phase-out organized in Shenzhen, China

Public campaign for HCFCs Phase-out was successfully organized in Binhai community, Yantian District of Shenzhen. Singing and dancing shows, display of PSA and publicity boards, distribution of booklets and flyers as well as impromptu speeches were conducted to call on the public to protect the ozone layer and purchase ozone friendly air-conditioners. Safety of household and similar electric appliances -special requirements on heat pumps, air-conditioners and dehumidifiers (GB4706.32-2012) came into force on May 1, which marks R290 and other environmentally friendly substances based air-conditioners will be put on the Chinese market.

 

Mr. Jia Feng, Director General of Centre for Education and Communication, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Mr. Xiao Xuezhi, Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Cooperation Office, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Mr. Lin Hanzhang, Deputy Director of Committee of Human Settlements of Shenzhen, officers and representatives from China Household Electric Appliances Associations, United Nations Environmental Programme as well as GIZ made impromptu speeches at the event. Xinhua news agency, CCTV and China news agency and other agencies reported the event. Around 500 persons, including neighborhood residents, volunteers, environmental friendly enjoys attended the event.
