On May 26, 2026, the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China and Greenpeace jointly held the Seminar on China-EU Clean Industrial Development and Carbon Market online. More than 30 senior experts from Chinese and European think tanks attended the seminar, including Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange, China Carbon Emissions Registration and Clearing Co., Ltd., Guangdong University of Technology, Institute for European Environmental Policy, ECCO – The Italian Climate Change Think Tank, Strategic Perspectives, London School of Economics and Political Science, Carbon Market Watch, Climate Action Network Europe, and Adelphi, etc. Representatives of FECO and Greenpeace delivered the opening remarks and the concluding statements, respectively.

Centering on the theme of the latest policy and investment trends in China-EU green and low-carbon industries, and focusing on two key areas—low-carbon industrial investment and carbon market development, the participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on policy developments, investment trends, and the latest progress in carbon markets on both sides, identified common challenges facing China-EU climate action, and explored potential areas of cooperation. The seminar further enhanced mutual understanding between Chinese and European think tank experts on green and low-carbon industrial policies and carbon market development on both sides. Both sides expressed their willingness to continue using such dialogues as a platform for deepening mutual trust, and to contribute think-tank insights to advancing the China-EU Green Partnership with greater depth and substance.
