Invitation to participate in
China-Pacific Island Countries for South-South Cooperation
Capacity Building Workshop on Climate Change, Green & Low-Carbon Development

To whom it may concern,
Pacific Island countries and China have carried out friendly cooperation in addressing climate change. In 2019, 14 participants from Pacific Island countries together with participants from other 30 developing countries took part in the workshops in Beijing organized by Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO), Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of the People’s Republic of China. The workshops received considerable acclaim.
On behalf of FECO, it is my pleasure to extend an invitation to participants from Pacific Island countries to participate in the China-Pacific Island Countries for South-South Cooperation Capacity Building workshop on Climate Change, Green & Low-Carbon Development, which will be held online during June 20-28, 2022. This workshop is guided by the Department of Climate Change of MEE and supported by China-Pacific Island Countries Climate Action Cooperation Center.
To enhance the understanding to China and global experiences on climate change, lectures include global climate change governance, China's climate change strategies, case study for South-South cooperation projects, local practices on climate change adaptation and low-carbon energy development. Considering the characteristics of Pacific Island countries, coral reef protection, tropical island community’s response to climate change and sustainable economic development has been arranged. The workshop is also trying to provide networking platform for participants from Pacific Island countries, with group works and communication among participants.
You are welcomed to participate in this workshop. Please submit your application via http://www.greenbr.org.cn/workshop/application.html no later than June 10, 2022. An employer’s approval letter for the workshop is needed. Feedback will be emailed to you before June 15. More information please refer to the Introduction as attached.
